For the last three Octobers I’ve been traveling a spectacular loop starting from the sparkling shores of Payette Lake in McCall Idaho, traversing through hidden gems along the way to Teton National Park, then up through Yellowstone, and finally back along the Main Salmon River home to McCall. I realize what I’ve discovered could be considered the “Grand Slam” of a photographer’s adventure dreams, and I’d like to share it with you.
What do you say, join me next October 6-15, 2017? Yes I’m talking ten days of adventure with your camera! – I will lead you on this meandering journey through some of our country’s most magnificent lands. A journey built around seeing, photographing, & experiencing wildlife, hot springs, breathtaking landscapes, lakes, rivers, all in fall’s peak colors. Through all of it we will weave techniques into seeing, experiencing and photographing the deeper elements of what’s before you. In post processing sessions we will explore ways to further express the felt experience. Whether you’re a beginner photographer opening to the world of expression through a camera lens, or a seasoned artist with camera as your medium, you will come away with much to fill your creative longings. In relaxing evening gatherings we will enjoy insightful talks from leading experts in climatology, botany, Five Element acupuncture and Mind/Body Medicine, all relating to your experiences on this trip. In fact, I’m guessing your cup will overfloweth….
It will be a combination of camping out and lodging in. Your own transportation is required as we will caravan. I imagine there will be opportunities for networking and car pooling. The group is limited to the first ten to jump on board! Our first night we’ll gather in McCall for a hosted dinner to meet and greet. We’ll top it off at the end with an overnight at the Bergdorf Hotspirngs for a barbecue, soak, and last chance at photographing elk herds at dusk. For the rest of the trip I will provide the camp kitchen and food when we camp, so all you’ll need on that end is tent and sleeping gear (or you could conceivably bring or rent a camper van…). All other meals are not included in the price, although we will dine together as a group. Morning coffee/tea will be served out of the Swiss Army Van on our early morning adventures, so bring your favorite mug too! I will be looking into lodging soon for the nights when we are “sleeping in” (that does NOT mean sleeping late – only inside ;<), and will include that cost plus camping & Park Entry fees into the trip price. I haven’t quite nailed down the mix of camp vs. lodge nights, and it may well end up being somewhat weather dependent.

I think I was born to teach. It’s been a gift and a passion. My 30 year career as a nurse has nurtured and cultivated this gift & it seems like a natural that I am now inspired to share what I’ve learned about adventures in photography. With you!
Details will be worked out through this winter, and I know they will add up to an unforgettable adventure. Visit this page for updates, or, if you let me know you’re interested, I will notify you by email when there are new tidbits to check out & dream about.
